Bus Driver Appreciation (October 8-12)
PTA is proud to show our appreciation to the bus drivers who safely transport our children to and from school each day. Donuts with Dad (October 19) This PTA sponsored event gives dads, grandpas & uncles a chance to spend an hour before school with their children and socialize with other dads. We provide donuts, coffee, juice and milk. Art to Remember (Oct - Dec) This Fundraiser takes your student's art work and puts them on note cards, mugs, coasters, t-shirts, etc. This will be done in time for Christmas...great gift ideas! Reflections Reflections is a National PTA program that encourages our children to express themselves through the arts. Students choose to submit an entry based on the annual Reflections theme in one or more of the following categories: photography, literature, visual arts, dance choreography, video production and music composition. Entries are judged and awards given at local, state and national levels. Mustang Bucks During Education Week each year, PTA presents vouchers to teachers to purchase items that will improve the classroom and benefit our children. Winter Family Event - Bingo Night (January 25) This FREE event allows a much needed opportunity to socialize during the dreary month of January. This year we will join together for a fun evening filled with Bingo! Principal Appreciation Week (February 4-8) PTA loves to take the time to show Mrs. Kirkwood how much she is appreciated. Our week-long celebration includes decorating, lunch, cake and a special surprise. Scrapbooking Day Event (February 16) Join together for fun and fellowship as we scrapbook the day away. This is our way of thanking you for all you do. Lunch and dinner will be included and many prizes will be given away. Registration forms will be sent home in the upcoming months; sign up early to ensure that you have a seat! |
Book Fair (March 4-8)
Our Scholastic Book Fair takes place during Reading Month. Families may choose to purchase books from both youth and adult selections. Proceeds benefit the Media Center and reading enrichment programs. Family Reading Night (March 5) To coincide with reading month, PTA and MRE staff entertains students and parents with skits from familiar children stories. PTA also sponsors a visit from a well known author or illustrator during this month. Fun Run (April 26) This event is PTA's spring fundraiser. Students will collect pledges and then have a fun day of running/walking. Muffins with Mom (May 3) This event gives our moms, grandmas, and aunts a chance to spend the morning with their children having donuts, coffee, milk and juice as well as visiting with other moms. Staff Appreciation (May 6-10) Our PTA feels it is very important to show the MRE staff how much we appreciate them. Volunteers help us provide lunch everyday for a week. Fifth Grade Recognition (June 3) As our fifth grade students prepare to move on to Junior High, it is our honor to throw them a going away celebration, which includes an awards presentation, cake and a camera with which to record the festivities. Pizza Primo Night (Monthly) Dine in, carry out or get delivery on the second Thursday of each month at Pizza Primo at 7350 Jackman Road in Temperance (southeast corner of Jackman and Sterns) and MRE's PTA will receive a percentage of all purchases made from 4 - 8 pm (NO COUPON REQUIRED). Funds earned will be used to pay for PTA sponsored programs, events and activities for MRE's students and their families. |
